During the pandemic lockdown, Derrick found a new passion in woodworking. Occasional gifts for his wife became frequent small projects. Power tools claimed more and more space in the garage, and piles of lumber accumulated.

Nowadays, strolls with the wife through various lumber yards and woodworking stores to see what they have is considered a date. Woodworking became more than a hobby. It injected joy into life.  Whether it’s a charcuterie board or a custom bar cart made with reclaimed materials, Derrick tackles each project with curiosity and a healthy dose of perfectionism.

He enjoys solving complex problems, and the creative challenges and hands-on thrills that come with woodworking lit a spark that yearns to craft.
